Unrequited love is a one-sided affection which is not reciprocated. It can be extremely painful to have a strong devotion to someone when you know those feelings will never be returned. Human emotions are very complex. We usually have little control over them and can find people desirable for many reasons such as physical beauty, charm, intelligence, wit and status. Although unrequited love is often a romantic theme in poetry, literature, music and movies, it can have a dark side. The inability of the unrequited lover to express and fulfill emotional needs may lead to feelings of depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. The recipient of this unwanted love may also suffer from feelings of frustration and guilt or may unscrupulously use the circumstances to their own advantage. In any case, it's a hopeless situation for the unrequited lover where the person they want the most is usually the person they're best off doing without. <Watch Video>
There's so much pressure on people to be successful these days. To be aggressive and achieve things in life. To be better than everyone else. Richer, stronger, faster, more beautiful. You might admire ruthless, powerful people and aspire to be like them but don't be hard on those gentler souls who don't subscribe to your philosophy. You probably depend on them much more than you realise. Never push them in a direction they don't want to go. You might just lose the very thing you're searching for and drive away someone who really cares for you. You shouldn't do that. <Watch Video>
I accompanied Arlenderre on his Once In A Blue Moon tour when he was asked by a village resident's association to appear at their annual festival to help raise funds for some local charities. The venue was actually in the crypt underneath the village church. It was very atmospheric and really spooky and felt like it could have featured in a horror movie with it's dark nooks and crannies. The place was fairly small but a large crowd had turned up. They'd spilled out of the open doors into the graveyard and were dancing around the graves. There was a full moon that night which really added to the atmosphere. It was one of the strangest shows I've ever attended. <Watch Video>
How can you know the darkness that hides behind the light of a smile? How can you trust what you cannot see? They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, so you must look beyond the surface to find the truth. It dwells deep within the eyes and behind the smile. <Watch Video>
