"All the world's a stage
And all the men and women merely players
They have their exits and their entrances
And one man in his time plays many parts"
William Shakespeare
If life is just a play, then you'll need to fight hard to gain a leading role. But having to face an audience and constantly put on a stirring performance is exhausting. You'll experience fear and anxiety. Palms sweating. Heart racing. You may turn to certain remedies to help you through. If you're lucky, you'll have a long successful run. If not, you'll bear the criticism of a hostile crowd and close on the first night with others waiting in the wings to eagerly take your place. Eventually, you'll face the final curtain and take your last bow, but the show will still go on without you.
STAGE FRIGHT
Nothing’s ever what it seems
Cherished hopes, shattered dreams
Never knowing what it means
Till it falls apart
All the yearning, all your plans
Feel them slipping through your hands
And you don’t get a second chance
To fix a broken heart
Don’t tell me I’m a fool, I know
Stood aside and watched you go
Should’ve tried to hold on, but oh
I was looking at the stars
Where you only see what you wanna see
And you believe what will never be
I let you walk away from me
And now I wonder where you are
Like stage fright
Getting caught in the spotlight
Never thought I’d be on my own
In the danger zone
Not knowing where to start
Like stage fright
Lost for words on the first night
Hold your nerve gotta face the pack
Cos you can’t go back
Gotta learn to play the part
